SYBELLA NGFounder, Lead Consultant & FacilitatorHaving been trained as an educator as well as a child and family development specialist, Sybella Ng dedicates her time to increasing awareness on the importance of mental wellbeing. She works with a diverse group of clients which includes parents, children, teachers, NGOs, early childhood centers and even a manufacturing company, to provide consultation, coaching, and training in enhancing developmental skills, by applying practical psychological framework, to increase resilience and maximize individual potential. Furthermore, Sybella’s experience as a former Psychology lecturer for half a decade has not only afforded her with the opportunity to advocate for the importance of mental health care through media platforms such as NTV7, BFM Night School and the Star Newspaper, but she has also presented a research paper on inclusion at the 29th International Congress for Applied Psychology in June 2018.
Sybella Ng graduated with a Masters degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University and has since obtained a Graduate Certificate in Family Therapy. Before returning to Malaysia in 2013, she completed her practical training at a psychiatric facility in Oklahoma as well as an internship as research assistant at New York University, where she accumulated a wide range of skills that are valuable in developing impactful prevention and intervention programs. In 2016 and for three subsequent years, Sybella partnered with a local NGO to deliver parenting seminars and parents support group at a child care center in Seri Kembangan, where parents gained knowledge on current issues with raising children. More than that, she also coordinated mental health awareness sessions, alongside trained and licensed clinical psychologists and counselors, where the community learned about various mental illnesses, coping skills to enhance resilience as well as intervention options for treatment purposes. With a strong passion for building stronger communities through psychology and versatile skills from her diverse experiences, Sybella collaborates with renowned local and international psychologists and educators to destigmatize current issues on mental health care. |
ALVIN TEH TAI YEANDirector of OperationsA strategist, implementer and coordinator, Alvin Teh has devoted himself to the industry of building people’s potential. He has collaborated with large corporations and institutions such as General Electric (GE), Mastercard, Tenage Nasional Berhad (TNB), HSBC Bank, SONY, Sime Darby and many more, to explore and develop the most relevant strategies in building a better tomorrow starting from creating the most relevant organizational development blueprint. Furthermore, Alvin has had a diverse experience in executing the strategic plans for start-ups in the Healthcare and Digital Marketing sector. He has helped his clients successfully strategized and executed PR marketing campaigns which yielded approximately ten-fold increase of sales to the revenue stream in 2017.
Alvin Teh is a graduate of Masters in Statistics with specialization in Actuarial Science. The hands-on experiences Alvin has accumulated teaching statistics in one of the top 100 universities in the U.S. serve as valuable tools for him to innovate effective methods to deliver high-impact educational talent development trainings. While doing so, Alvin served as a committee member on the Steering Committee for University of Central Oklahoma’s National Transformative Learning conference in 2012. He was also one of the youngest featured speaker at the 1 ASEAN Entrepreneurship Summit 2015 and International Conference of Blue Ocean Strategy 2016 to discuss about Corporate Strategies. He specializes in Bolman & Deal’s Organizational Four-Frame Model. Being fluent in English, Mandarin and Malay, Alvin has garnered diverse experiences and clientele to be a sought-after Millennial Peak Performance Speaker in the insurance industry. In 2018, he hosted the 22nd National Chinese Life Insurance Congress attended by over 3,000 commercial and life insurance agents from the leading insurance companies in Malaysia, Singapore, China and Thailand. Throughout the conference, he connected with many millennial talents and shared about relevant strategies to turbo-charge their career projection in the Fortune 500 companies such as Prudential, Zurich, AIA. |

DR. CHUA SOOK NINGClinical Psychologist, Founder of Relate MalaysiaDr. Chua Sook Ning studied in Canada and graduated with a MA in Social Psychology from University of Waterloo and a PhD in clinical psychology from McGill University, and is a registered Psychologist in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. She works as a psychotherapist, researcher and presently is a lecturer at National Institute of Education at Nanyang Technological University. She has been practicing as a psychotherapist for over a decade. As an academician and researcher, she focuses on exploring autonomy support, goal progress and well-being, autonomy support and civic engagement, and developing interventions for mental health. Her research contributes to the understanding on how to promote personal and relational well-being through social support and through community interventions. Her team of international collaborators includes Dr. Richard Koestner (McGill University), Dr. Frederick Philippe (Université du Québec à Montréal), David Bakker (Monash University, Australia), Dr. C. Barr Taylor (Stanford University), and Dr. Ellen Fitzsimmons-Craft(Washington University).

LIM SUE-ANNEResearch & Development at ThinkintOpen-minded and genuine, Sue-Anne has explored various industries in her career and voluntary work. Her interest in different areas has helped her empathise with people from various backgrounds which aligns closely with her work as a counselor. Sue-Anne’s vision was always to combine technical knowledge and the helping profession which initially drew her to work hard and get into the double degree programme for Commerce and Law at Melbourne University. She pursued work as a tax consultant with Ernst & Young where she proved her ability to work effectively with diverse teams to help multinational organisations, such as PETRONAS, Khazanah, MAS, DIGI, Sapura-Kencana, InvestKL and many more, with international projects. Sue-Anne’s passion to contribute to community drew her to volunteer with Agape Vision working with at-risk youths and eventually pursuing a Master of Counseling. All whilst working in tax, sales and property management. Having gone through her own career transformation, grief, and burnout, Sue-Anne resonates strongly with young working professionals and the struggles they face in their career journe, and personal life. She believes that her story and commitment to serve will help individuals find peace and live a purposeful life aligned with their values and dreams.

DR. EUGENE TEESenior Lecturer at HELP UniversityDr. Eugene Y.J. Tee is presently Senior Lecturer and Research Coordinator at the Department of Psychology, HELP University. He attained his Ph.D. in Management from the University of Queensland in 2010 and has research interests in the study of emotions-related processes in both social and organizational interactions. He has presented his research work in conferences internationally and regionally, and has published his work on emotions in Leadership Quarterly, Advancing Relational Leadership Theory, Research on Emotions in Organizations and Followership in Action: Cases and Commentaries. Dr. Tee has presented his research work in conferences locally and internationally, on the influence of discrete emotions, emotions-related processes, and emotional intelligence. He has also been featured on BFM’s “The Big Picture” discussing emotional intelligence in the workplace, providing suggestions on creating emotionally-healthy work environments, as well as “Night School,” where he discusses the importance, and impact of emotions in everyday life.

RONALD LEEManager / Counsellor, Centre for Psychological and Counselling Services, HELP UniversityAs a practicing counsellor and manager in a mental health services centre, Ronald Lee dedicates his time to giving counselling and psychotherapy to a diverse group of clients that includes students, staffs, and people of the general public. He is experienced in working with individuals with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar and related disorders, personality-related disorders, low self-esteem, adjustment difficulties, postpartum depression, and grief. He also works with private organizations and NGO in providing consultations, trainings and workshops in stress management, health behavior change, responding to mental health crisis, and basic helping skills. On top of that, he is also a clinical supervisor to students who are undergoing training in Master in Counselling, and he has also been involved in providing practiced-based training to Masters in Clinical Psychology students who are undergoing practicum training. He was also featured in Free Malaysia Today on issues pertaining to mental and behavioral health.
